Our fabulous girls who run our Shop on the Quay in Waterford are also animal volunteers. They take in and foster and re-home pets after suitable home checks. They take in so many animals off the street who need their care. The Public also take unwanted pets to the Shop when they can no longer look after them. The girls always find them a safe environment.
The dog pictured here was rescued by our Deise Volunteers in Waterford, his name is Spike. His owner from Portlaw was fatally stabbed when fight broke out in Waterford. Spike was found a week later in the pouring rain outside Pennys with a stab wound. Spike in a very serious condition was rushed to the vets and treated for his wound. Thankfully he recovered and was fostered by one of our supporters. Our dedicated volunteers found Spike a brilliant new home with three other dogs. As you can see enjoying his first Christmas dinner with his new family.
